2 min read | 9.4.2025

Visma Sign’s Nordic brand study from March 2025 shows that e-signing continues to grow steadily across the region – but clear differences remain between markets.

The research examined the state of e-signing, barriers to adoption and how Visma Sign is positioned against competitors in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

E-signing adoption in the Nordics: Denmark and Norway leading the way

According to the study, Denmark and Norway have the highest adoption rates for e-signing compared to Finland and Sweden.

  • Norway increased from 57% (2023) to 62% (2024) and has held that level into 2025.
  • Denmark currently leads with 69% adoption in 2025. There is no comparable data from earlier years, making Denmark an interesting market to follow moving forward.
  • Finland has remained consistently high at 56–57% (2023–2025), showing that e-signing is fully embedded in everyday business.
  • Sweden saw strong growth from 39% (2023) to 47% (2024), but the 2025 rise is more modest (48%).

What drives e-signing service selection in the Nordics?

Across all Nordic countries, businesses choose e-signing solutions based on:

  • Ease of use (FIN 61%, NOR 70%, SWE 59%, DEN 42%)
  • Security and strong authentication
  • Transparent and predictable pricing

The most valued benefits are improved operational efficiency, reduced paper use, stronger data security, and a smoother customer experience.

Looking ahead: E-signing continues to grow across the Nordics

E-signing has become a standard part of business operations across the region. More than half of companies already using e-signing in every Nordic country expect usage to increase in the coming year.

This creates strong momentum for services like Visma Sign, particularly in cross-border workflows and enterprise-level adoption.
