Simple and secure agreement workflows in the food industry

Lohilo Foods was among the first companies to bring protein ice cream to the market. Today, in addition to ice cream, the company focuses broadly on products that support an active lifestyle. Lohilo’s products are sold not only in Finland but also in Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Germany.
Visma Sign has been in use at Lohilo since 2020. Previously, completing a contract could take weeks when all documents were sent by post in paper form. Today, the same agreement can be finalised in just a few minutes.
It’s surprising how simple and easy the software is to use. But that seems to be the Visma way – making things effortless for both small and large businesses.
Flexibility without compromising on security
Two factors were especially important when Lohilo chose an e-signing solution: documents needed to be handled securely, and the signing flow had to comply with GDPR.
At the same time, the tool had to be flexible to match fluctuating signing volumes.
The number of signatures we need varies quite a lot from month to month. One month we might use forty signatures, and the next only one.
That’s why the flexibility of Visma Sign’s plans appealed to us,
Steenn explains.
Quick to adopt
Introducing Visma Sign was straightforward, and no prior experience was needed.
“It really didn’t require anything more than scrolling through the menus and features once. Let’s test this – it works – right, let’s go!’”
Steenn summarises.
As a listed company, Lohilo also needed to define user access rights with precision — who can access which information in Visma Sign.
Setting up access rights was extremely easy, and I can adjust them later whenever needed. Looking back, I keep thinking: why did we stay with traditional signing for so long?
Significant time savings
Today, agreement processes at Lohilo run far more smoothly, improving everyday work for the entire team. Visma Sign is now used for most of the company’s documents.
“Previously the process literally started with printing a sheet of paper, signing it, putting it in an envelope and posting it — then hoping it would come back soon,”
Steenn recalls.
“Now I can send the document digitally, call the signer and ask them to sign it, and everything is ready in five minutes. The signing process has shortened dramatically for everyone.
And as a huge bonus, we can work from home instead of going to the office to pick up envelopes and stamps.”
Better visibility is another major advantage
Time savings are by far the biggest benefit Visma Sign has brought. But Lohilo also values the improved visibility across the entire signing process.
It’s extremely valuable for us to always know where each agreement stands — who has opened the document and whose signature we’re still waiting for.
LElectronic signing also supports Lohilo’s brand as a modern, ecological and security-focused company.
“Receiving a digital invitation and signing with online banking credentials adds a layer of credibility to the whole process. Especially for new employees, it signals that they are joining a modern and trustworthy organisation,” Steenn says.
